Gardner-Webb University, located in Boiling Springs, North
Carolina, seeks a seasoned development professional to lead
University Advancement. The Vice President for Advancement
manages all advancement and fundraising activities, including
the capital campaign, annual fund, grants development, alumni
relations, public relations, and marketing. Along with the
President and other staff, faculty, volunteer leadership, the Vice
President for Advancement will aggressively seek out and ask
donor prospects to support the University in its stated goals and
values. The Vice President for Advancement will support the
President’s fund-raising activities, create institutional strategy
for development, help set fundraising priorities and goals,
evaluate and equip the development staff, and manage a personal
portfolio of major gift prospects.

bachelor’s degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred.

The Girl Scout Council of Greater New
York City offers vital, often life-changing,
leadership, growth, and community
volunteer experiences to girls, many of whom have limited access to
enrichment activities of any kind. With a budget of $5 million and a
staff of 50+, the Council services approximately 23,000 girls annually,
about 50% of whom live at or below the poverty line. In order to
increase membership and serve more girls, the Council must continue
to develop its programs and build organizational capacity for delivering
them. As a result, the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York seeks
a visionary leader with the energy, commitment and executive level
experience to take the organization to the next level. The CEO will work
closely with the board to define the organization’s strategic vision and
lead and inspire the staff to implement it at the highest possible level.
The CEO will: further develop organizational structures and internal
systems to ensure that the Council operates efficiently and effectively;
oversee the development and evaluation of programs; oversee finance
and budgeting; serve as the public face of the organization, raising
awareness of the Girl Scouts’ mission and work, building relationships
with a broad base of constituencies and increasing funding across all
giving areas.

experience; proven ability to lead organizational change, development

skills both internally and externally; a track record of successful
business development or fund raising; strong financial management
skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously,
delegate effectively, and achieve stated goals. Personally, s/he should
be an intelligent, straightforward person who performs at the highest
possible level and inspires others to do so as well.
College degree and relevant experience required.

Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), one of the nation’s leading
and most respected health care providers, seeks an
aspirational and seasoned Senior Vice President (SVP) for the
Office of Philanthropy to provide strategic vision and leadership
for its comprehensive fundraising efforts.
Founded in 1915 by auto pioneer Henry Ford, the SVP will be
joining a premier health care system dedicated to offering a
seamless array of acute, primary, tertiary, quaternary and
preventive care backed by excellence in research and
education. HFHS recorded $3.9 billion in revenue in 2009 while
providing more than $173 million in uncompensated medical
care. Lead by President and Chief Executive Officer Nancy
Schlichting, and governed by a 24-member board of trustees,
the system also boasts more than 150 volunteer leaders across
its five hospitals in Detroit, Macomb, Warren, West Bloomfield
and Wyandotte. HFHS has over 23,000 employees who provide
care to over 3. 3 million patient contacts and perform more than
81,000 ambulatory surgery procedures each year. Over
102,000 patients are admitted to Henry Ford Hospitals annually.
HFHS is currently in the middle of their ENVISION campaign.
Launched in 2007 with a target of $250 million, the seven-year
campaign focuses on renovating and expanding the flagship
Henry Ford Hospital, constructing a new 300-bed West
Bloomfield Hospital in Oakland County, and enriching the
System’s nationally recognized Centers of Excellence.
Reporting to President Schlichting, the SVP will be responsible
for setting the overall strategic direction of fundraising. S/he will
oversee annual, major donor, and corporate and foundation
fundraising; ensure ongoing annual operating support
throughout the current and future campaigns; personally
manage a prospect portfolio including the organization’s most
significant donors; work directly with the Boards of Trustees;
and provide strategic and motivational guidance to the
development staff and volunteer leadership. The successful
candidate will possess at least 10 years of experience in
development, ideally in a campaign environment, as well as
strong managerial, strategic planning and motivational skills.
S/he should have demonstrated success working in a complex
organization, preferably within a research-driven or medical
environment, and have a track record of designing and
executing comprehensive fundraising efforts on both regional
and national levels.

Catholic Outreach, Inc. (CICO), is seeking a Chief Financial Officer.
Cross seeks a dynamic and professional leader with a minimum
of ten years’ experience in a highly productive and progressive
financial department within the nonprofit sector. The candidate
must be a committed Christian able to work effectively in an inter-
denominational religious organization.
Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have strong business acumen in
planning, finance, and budgeting, as well as, knowledge of federal
and state financial regulations governing nonprofits. He or she will
also have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data and
prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections, develop
and implement strategic business and operating plans, provide
audit process oversight and work as an effective team leader. It is
imperative that this individual have an active faith life and fully
support the mission of Cross International.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required; MBA and/or CPA with non-profit
certification is preferred, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
in financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, fund accounting and
management.
