Major Gift Officer
The University of Houston seeks major gift officers for its central
development team, which manages portfolios of individual donor
prospects rated primarily at $100,000 and above.
UH has a hybrid organization including college-based development
officers focused mostly on gifts of less than $100,000 and a central
team of major gift officers which raises funds for colleges and university-level priorities.
Job duties for major gift officers include:
• Manages a portfolio of donor prospects rated primarily at $100,000
or more
• Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donor prospects
• Works with deans, faculty, staff, volunteers and other development
professionals as appropriate and provides guidance on major gifts
strategies
Successful candidates will possess a high level of knowledge and
expertise in principals of fundraising, moves management and major
gift fundraising, mid-level or higher knowledge of planned giving, a
minimum of five ( 5) years of fundraising experience and a four-year
degree.
Located in the nation’s fourth largest city, and a vital economic engine
